Founding Members
Carla: Owner/Founder
Carla returned to the Tallahassee area in 2014 where she was working in social work. After some soul searching, she made the decision to use her social work skills in the pet world as well as continue with the human side, their owners. Carla has over 20 years experience caring for animals and has owned a pet most of her life. She is currently mom to two pugs and one cat. Along with a few outdoor cats she feeds every evening.
Carla is certified in pet CPR and First Aid by the Pet Health Academy and is a member of Pet Sitters International and National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. She takes this knowledge and receives Continuing Education Units, along with providing training to her team. She also utilizes Pet Pro Hero and Fetch Find in teaching her team.
One of the most important aspects of this work is community - for her to hire within the community, spend local dollars, and participate in local non-profits within the community. She uses her business as a vehicle of good, always.
Belinda: Pet Specialist / Community Management Coordinator
Belinda is a registered nurse and a licensed funeral director by profession. She treats all animals like her “patients”, exhibiting the same kindness, love, and concern. She joined the team from the beginning, assisting with administrative duties and pet sitting, along with helping Jon and Carla launch the “Active Retiree Program.” Belinda loves dogs, but her favorite pets to care for are cats; a love she developed from an early age, living with a mother who had cats her entire life!
Jon: Pet Care Specialist / Schedule Watcher
Jon and Belinda spearheaded our active retiree program, giving retirees a chance to exercise, be engaged in the community, and have the joy that animal, unconditional love brings.
Jon has years of experience with pets; we often refer to him as the “Dog Whisperer”. Dogs who are shy and not so “people friendly” seem to love him!
The Team
Angela works for Tallahassee Lassie Pet Care on a part-time, as she is a teacher at a local elementary school. She started as a client and has quickly become a pet-sitting superstar! All the pets love her, and she loves them right back. She’s also known for her wonderful snaps of pups and loves taking her own dog, Stryker, on long trail walks. We love Angela! You’ll usually see her on the weekends unless it is summer or holiday break.

Cassandra: Pet Care Specialist
Cassandra has been with Tallahassee Lassie since 2020, and is extremely passionate about animals. She is a dog and cat owner and is very dedicated to our business. She recently earned her PhD from The Florida State University, and is also employed by the Department of State.
Megan: Pet Care Specialist
Megan is a recent community recruit! She moved here with her husband (military) and two older children (one Navy, one aspiring law enforcement in Tallahassee), and multiple pets. Megan was a pet sitter in their former area in South Carolina, as well as a vet tech for over 7 years. Megan has experience with all animals, loves dogs, and has cats at home. She is happy to be in Tallahassee and excited to be getting back to work!
Jen has both volunteered and worked in animal rescue and adoption. A cat-mom for decades, she has also experienced the trust and love of a rambunctious border collie, who grew her heart about a thousand sizes, as dogs will. Jen and her husband welcomed two cats into the family after their beloved dog passed. As a client, Jen has been ultra-impressed not only by the care her animals receive, but by the friendly notes and photos from our team. She recalls in particular a photo of her Siamese relishing being brushed by the caregiver. A former dancer and yoga teacher, Jen enjoys gardening and playing the piano.
Jen: Pet Care Specialist / Team Lead
Kim has been with Tallahassee Lassie as a part-timer since 2022. She works in social services as a grants manager for a local nonprofit. This means her Tallahassee Lassie time is in the evenings and on weekends. With over 4 decades of experience with cats and dogs, she is a great asset to our company.
Kim: Pet Care Specialist
Paul: Pet Care Specialist
Sunshine has worn many hats through the years. From Daughter, Sister, and Mother to Small Business Owner, and more recently, Grandmother! Through it all she has worked in animal rescue and fostering. Her household includes two cats, three dogs, four rats, and a mouse. She loves working with herders, which is why her “furbabies” include an Australian Shepard, a Border Collie and a Blue Heeler! When not surrounded by her pets, you can find her working or loving on her very large family.
Sunshine: Operations Manager
Paul is a community recruit who comes to us with two decades of pet care experience, and has worked for Tallahassee Lassie Pet Care since 2022. He has a very calming energy but can be very playful when needed. He does so well with dogs of all sizes, cats, and all farm animals. He is eager to start taking pups on field trips! Paul is available for dailies and vacation clients. He is working on an open schedule, so be sure to select him as your sitter if he is available.
